Day 6 – 5 March

Holi, also known as the “Festival of Colors,” is a vibrant Hindu festival celebrated across India and globally, marking the end of winter and the arrival of spring. It’s a time for joy, laughter, and celebrating the victory of good over evil, as well as the divine love between Radha and Krishna.

“Jaipur was made for bustle. The crowd, the commerce and the commotion were all part of the plan. It’s founders always intended it to be the busy shopping destination, that it remains today. The streets were made broad and straight so that as many people as possible could reach the shops, as quickly as possible; and if they seem a bit overloaded these days, that is a measure of the runaway success of the founders’ vision”.

Giles Tillotson – writer, lecturer
